TikTok Global Shipping
TikTok global shipping process starts as soon as an order has been placed on the social media platform. TikTok Shop has different logistics services available in selected markets. E-commerce businesses in Indonesia and UK will follow very different shipping methods.
In Indonesia, the transaction mode is local-to-local transaction and the only logistics mode available is either “Ship by TikTok” or “Ship by Seller”. In the UK, for local-to-local transaction the logistics mode will follow “Ship by Seller”. For cross-border transactions in the UK, the logisics mode available will only be “Ship by TikTok”.
Once the package has been shipped under “Ship by TikTok” mode, the carrier will update the delivery status to “delivered”. If the TikTok seller uses “Ship by Seller”, TikTok will use the logistics data provided by a third-party company to check and verify the delivery status.
After the customer has placed an order via TikTok Shop, the seller will review the order to ensure that the items are in stock and can be sold and delivered to you.
If your seller selected “Ship by Seller”, the seller is then responsible for any damages done to the packaging.
However, if the seller is shipping through “Ship by TikTok”, then TikTok Shop will look into whose responsibility it is for the damaged packaging. The carrier will only be held responsible for parcel damages if the seller failed to provide secure original packing.
Ship by Seller
The seller will be repsonsible for all packaging and arranding for carriers to collect your TikTok package.
Ship by TikTok
To use TikTok Shop’s service, the seller must complete all packing and update order status in the Seller Center to “Ready to Ship” in 72 hours after you have placed the order. The carrier will then be notified to pick up the seller’s package in 48 hours.
TikTok Global Tracking – Order Cancellation
TikTok orders that are currently pending to be shipped/ready to ship with no tracking status update after 15 calendar days from when the order was place will be automatically cancelled. Customers will be fully refunded for the amount paid. Sellers on TikTok will receive a daily reminder to update the status of the pending orders before the auto-cancellation rule commences.

What is a global parcel tracking number?
A parcel tracking number or tracking code is a unique set of numbers assigned to your packages upon shipping. A global package tracking number helps you to track and trace your package throughout the entire delivery journey. Tracking numbers can be applicable for either international or domestic packages depending on the shipping destination.
If you are the sender, the postal officer will issue you a tracking number. If you ordered an item online, the tracking number (shipment ID) will be updated on your order confirmation. The seller will also send across an email updating you on your order’s shipment, where you can then find your tracking number.
Where can I find my parcel tracking number?
After you have made an online purchase, the seller will send you an order confirmation email with your tracking number (shipment ID) and follow up with an order shipment update once your order has been dispatched. In the email, you will be able to see an assigned tracking number.
If you do not see a tracking number, please contact the seller directly for a tracking number of your package to track your order. In the case where you are receiving a package from someone and would like to track its delivery journey, you can get the global tracking number from the sender directly.
If you are sending a package, your local post office will issue you with a global tracking number. There is also a possibility that your parcel will not have a tracking number. Delivery tracking service is not available for several specific shipping methods. In this case, you would not be able to track your package.
How do I track my package globally?
To track your parcel, simply key in your tracking number from the seller in our global parcel tracking service and we will provide you with live tracking updates. You do not need to provide us with courier details or translate anything. We will translate your parcel tracking information into your preferred language, and send you regular email updates on your parcel.
It is very easy and convenient. You won’t need to guess which carrier or manually track and trace with multiple carriers. To know where your package is, simply enter your tracking number on this page and hit Track Package.
A report related to your parcel delivery will be shown to you including every shipping history as well as your parcel delivery status.
Where is my parcel?
Here are some possible explanations as to where your package is:
- After you have carted out your order, the e-commerce seller will send you an order confirmation email to notify you that your order has been confirmed.
- Your order will then be processed by the seller before arranging for pick up with a carrier.
- The carrier will pick up your order and the delivery driver will proceed to delivery your package to your delivery address.
Your parcel will spend some time in transit as it gets processed by the customs if it is an international package. Do not worry if you see that the delivery status of your parcel is “parcel in transit” or “stuck in customs”.
International parcel tracking with Parcel Monitor
Ordered from an online store that isn’t based in your country? No worries, our global parcel tracking platform provides international tracking for your packages regardless of the carrier. With our global tracking tool, you will get comprehensive parcel tracking information and links to each official carrier’s website with a prefilled tracking number that you can use to track packages.
Copy and paste the international tracking number into the parcel tracking tool and receive instant updates on your global packages. In case your global tracking number is unsupported, please contact your seller and let them know that you need an international parcel tracking number.
How to track my parcel from an online store internationally?
Similar to track and trace, you can track any packages globally from an online store as long as you have a global package tracking number. You can start tracking your parcel once you get an email confirmation saying that your parcel has been dispatched. It normally takes 1 to 5 business days for most online orders, but it would be good to check with the e-commerce store you bought from.
You can request for an international package tracking number from the online retail store you shopped from if you have lost the global tracking number. An international package tracking number (shipment ID) is different from an order number from your order confirmation email.. The only exception is the ASOS online store. You can track your ASOS parcel with your order number just fine.
Track your packages and international parcels with Parcel Monitor’s global package tracking tool. Track all international packages with an international parcel tracking number assigned to you as soon as your order has been shipped. Parcel Monitor provides worldwide package tracking and releases the latest and most up to date tracking information for your delivery globally. No matter where you are located or where you are sending your packages to, Parcel Monitor tracks all orders universally.
Why can’t I track my global package? There is no status update.
There are several reasons that prevent you from tracking your parcel globally:
- Your order had just been shipped so the tracking information is not yet available. Please allow 1-3 days for the order to be shipped before you start to track your order
- You entered the order number instead of the global tracking number (or shipment ID)
- You typed the international tracking number incorrectly
Sometimes, if the delivery or the tracking system is delayed, you might not get updates on your package or you will see it is in transit for several days. Please be patient! However, if the status on our global package tracking service says that the package has passed the expected delivery date, please reach out to the e-commerce store you ordered from.
How to check my parcel status?
Check your parcel status with a global package tracking number. With a parcel tracking number, you will be directed to where your parcel is. After you have received your tracking number, copy it and paste it on Parcel Monitor’s universal package tracking tool.
Parcel Monitor tracks over 800+ carriers globally, so regardless of the carrier that will be delivering your order, our universal parcel tracking tool will be able to track and trace your package. Once you have pasted your tracking number, you will be able to see your parcel’s delivery journey in real-time. Most carriers provide an estimated delivery date for all delivery orders. If you would like an estimation, you can view it with Parcel Monitor’s global parcel tracking page. Alternatively, you can request for it with the online retail store you shopped from.
Why am I not seeing any updates on my international parcel tracking status?
You may not see any updates on the online tracking system for several days. This could be due to a delivery delay (e.g. your package is stuck in transit) or the package tracking system failed to register your package progress. This is not a huge issue, so there’s no need to be worried.
However, if the package tracking status stays the same for too long or it has passed the expected delivery date, please email your online retail store to continue tracking your order. The retailer will then contact the postal company with your tracking information and request for the latest update.
What should I do if my package is stuck in international customs?
If you suspect that your package might be stuck in customs, there are several actions that you can take:
- Contact the online retail store. If anything happens to your package, the courier will usually inform the seller
- Contact the courier responsible for delivering your parcel. But only do this if you are sure that it is stuck in customs. The courier will support you in identifying the problem and guide you on the next steps to speed up the process
After identifying why your parcel is stuck in customs, you can take these steps below to resolve it:
- If it is due to incomplete documentation, coordinate with the online retail store and courier company to gather the missing information
- If there are outstanding taxes, your delivery will be released once you fulfill your tax duty
- If your items are forbidden or restricted, there is nothing you can do and your parcel will be disposed of.
How long will my parcel take to arrive?
The best way to find out how long your international package will take to arrive is to check with the e-commerce retailer or marketplace you bought the item from. Most online retailers will indicate a typical delivery time frame for international orders shipped out on their website, which varies according to the shipping method or type you chose. This can be found in either the shipping or delivery section, or their FAQ page.
If the time frame indicated on the retailer’s website has passed and you have not received your parcel, please contact the carrier and the seller directly with your global package tracking number.
Global package tracking is also available with our parcel tracking tool. All you need is an international parcel tracking number issued by your e-commerce store and paste it on our package tracking widget above and you will be able to track the status of your online order globally.
How do I track parcels in the US?
Parcels in the US are normally delivered through USPS. It is usually a bit tricky to track US packages since you do not have visibility on the exact courier. When an international package passes the border, there may be a change of carrier. But with Parcel Monitor, this won’t be a problem anymore. Our universal tracking service integrates all tracking information from different carriers in one place.
Just simply type in your global package tracking number and you will find comprehensive international tracking events history, carrier information, your parcel tracking status, and links to each official courier website. If your global tracking number is unsupported, contact the seller’s customer support team and the courier company, and they should get back to you in a couple of days.
How do I track parcels in the UK?
The major shipping service in the UK is provided by Royal Mail. To track parcels in the UK, people usually find international tracking information from the Royal Mail website. However, if it’s a global parcel, you might still need to guess the carrier when it is outside of the UK and track and trace them.
But that is not the case anymore — Parcel Monitor’s global tracking tools integrate all global shipping tracking from all major carriers worldwide, which help you to track your order easily and transparently. Just enter your global tracking number on the search box and you won’t have to wonder: “Where is my package?” anymore.
Is it safe to receive international packages from China during COVID?
The answer is yes, it is safe. You can safely receive your parcels or packages from China or any other country without the fear of contracting coronavirus.
This is because according to the analysis by the World Health Organization (WHO), coronavirus cannot survive for long on objects, including letters or international packages.
Will I get COVID if I receive global packages via China?
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), because of poor survivability of these coronaviruses on surfaces, there is likely very low risk of spread from products or packaging that are shipped over a period of days or weeks at ambient temperatures. The most common way that covid is transmitted is through respiratory droplets. Outside the human body, the virus is very fragile to survive.
Therefore, you won’t get COVID if you receive global packages or international mails via China or any other country with COVID-19 cases.
How can I claim a refund for packages that I did not receive?
Since in most cases you do not make a direct transaction with courier companies such as China Post, USPS, or FedEx, it is unlikely that contacting them will solve your problem. The solution here is that you should contact your payment authority (eBay, AliExpress, Paypal, etc.) and file a non-receipt dispute as soon as possible.
When you file a dispute, it is the responsibility of the seller to demonstrate that the parcel, domestic or international, was successfully delivered to the buyer. If they fail to do so, the money is automatically refunded to the buyer.
You can file a dispute at a website called the “Resolution Center” or the “Dispute Center” via your payment channel. Be aware of the deadline for filing a dispute. For eBay and PayPal, the time limit to file a dispute is 45 days from the date of payment, and for AliExpress, it is 60 days.
What does it mean if my package is still “in transit”?
If the tracking information states that your package is still “in transit”, it means your package cannot move for a long time, resulting in no new updates on the delivery tracking system.
“In transit” means the courier company has received the parcel and your shipment is en route to the destination address. The package stays in transit until the driver or postman delivers it.
When a parcel gets stuck in transit, it means that the package is no longer moving towards its destination. In this case, it can be stuck in the courier company’s depots or in customs.
Why is my package still stuck in transit?
There are many reasons why your shipment is still stuck in transit, according to Parcel Monitor’s universal parcel tracking. It is not uncommon that parcels are stuck in transit longer than expected. Parcels sent during COVID-19 outbreak were expected to experience a delay in delivery due to the overwhelming volume of packages. The e-commerce boom contributed to the spike in e-commerce parcel volume as the number of consumer shopping online surged.
When a parcel is stuck in transit, it generally means that the package is not moving forward to its destination country and is stuck with the carrier or customs.
Here are some of the most common reasons:
-
- Incorrect or incomplete address: This is the most common cause of non-delivery shipments. Please ensure that when you place your order, your address includes all the necessary information for shipping. In case you realize that your order information for your packages is wrong or missing, please contact the courier company to correct it in time.
-
- Adverse weather or traffic conditions: During busy peak seasons such as holidays, or during extreme weather conditions like heavy snowfall, it will take longer to get your parcel delivered to its destination.
-
- Customs clearance: Usually, orders moving within the US, EU, and AU countries will not need special documents, unless the package is on the list of special or prohibited items. However, if the order moves outside of the above countries, it will take time for the customs declaration . If your global packages do not have the required documentation, it will still be stuck in transit.
-
- Lost package: This is the worst case scenario for many, but if your parcel is lost, you would have to start a claim procedure and get a refund on the lost package.
- Package is oversized/overweight: Courier companies such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL, China Post, Yunexpress and more take dimensions and weight of the package into consideration when it comes to shipping. If your parcel is over the acceptable weight and size, it is possible that the courier company has rejected shipping your package. They will either charge you for extra or return it to you.
How long will my international package be stuck in transit?
Nobody can be sure about how long your parcel will be stuck in transit. There is a high chance that your order has had some problems during the delivery process. But the first thing you need to remember is that: updating tracking information on global package tracking sites like Parcel Monitor can take up to 24 to 48 hours! So do not panic if your parcel has not changed its status yet, and wait patiently for your newest tracking information to be updated.
There are several ways you can track your order to see what actually caused your shipment to be stuck in transit. Apart from using universal parcel trackers, some courier companies may give you access to the shipping data to help you find information about the status of your order. Besides, you can also call your courier company directly for more details.
Why is my parcel not delivered after a long time if it has arrived at destination country?
If your universal parcel tracking results shows that your package has arrived at destination country but no delivery has been made/no delivery information, this means that the parcel is facing delivery issues.
Here are some of the reasons why there is a delivery problem for your package:
- Incorrect delivery address
- Stuck at customs
- Parcel has been delivered but you have yet to check your mailbox
- No one was home for the delivery
If you have checked all of the above but still have yet to receive your packages, please contact your local post office and inquire about your parcel delivery.
